Gioconda Vallarta-Cervantes has a Master's degree in Innovation Management and Technology Change Policies at the National Polytechnic Institute (Mexico City - 2018). During her master's degree she carried out her research from the Coordination Commission of National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals with the project "Design and formation of a National Consortium for Research in Translational Medicine and Innovation (CONIMETI)", which was part of the project that sought collaboration between the National Institutes of Health, the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She also, developed a model for incubation/acceleration of the life sciences projects derived from the consortium.
She founded the SPARK program in Mexico and is the current co-director. SPARK is a translational medicine program founded at Stanford University that aims to solve health needs by accompanying researchers helping them to transform their research projects into innovations, through mentoring sessions with experts from industry and academia in the biomedical area.
She is currently studying her PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Rudolf Stichweh at the Forum Internationale Wissenschaft at the University of Bonn.
