In November 2024, Vitor Barros was awarded the prize for Best MA Thesis of 2023 by the Department of Sociology at the University of São Paulo. The work is entitled ‘A Máquina de Mundos: Um estudo sobre os conceitos de Mundo e Sociedade Mundial na sociologia de Niklas Luhmann’ (The World-Making Machine: A Study of the Concepts of World Society and World in the Sociology of Niklas Luhmann). He was also nominated for a national competition of the Brazilian Association for Social Sciences (ANPOCS).
