Alexandra Bechtum
Alexandra Bechtum studied Political Science, English and Spanish Philology at the Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen, University of Aberdeen and at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and graduated from the University of Freiburg in 2014. Her master thesis dealt with the politics of collective memory in the post-authoritarian Chilean society. In addition to her studies, Ms Bechtum worked as a student assistant at the Centre for Security and Society (University of Freiburg) and worked for the Federal Agency for Civic Education in Freiburg.
Since 2015, she is a PhD candidate and research assistant in the department Comparative Research on Democracies. Her PhD project deals with the role of protest movements and political inclusion in Latin America.
